Approach trail to the Lindauer Huette (hut) in Austria
Coming from the cable car, 1900 m asl

Alpine flowers and a small butterfly (you see it?)

“Three Towers” (Drei Tuerme) in the background

Lindauer Huette on the left side
Close-up

After a lunch we continue – the signs indicate the distance in hours (Std. = Stunden)

My new pack (Seek Outside Divide 4500 with some mods)

First snow patches close to the trail
but still some flowers
Now the trail is 100% snow covered
The steep trail to the Three Towers is also snowy – too dangerous
Remainings of an old stone hut from the 19th century, built as a shelter for tax-collectors

A view back
Our trail gets steeper – “LH” = “Lindauer Huette” pointing backward
Grass and flowers again close to the top
The “Drusator” at the Swiss border (Schweiz = Switzerland)
Looking into Switzerland
and walking down at the Swiss side

Finally: the Carschina hut below the Sulzfluh mountain
with home-made fresh bread, a hot soup and a cold beer
Plenty of water everywhere, potable as is
Time to set up the tent
Allowed in Switzerland, other than Austria and Germany
Breakfast next morning at the hut
before the way home
Just found some photos from 2003 when I summited the right (big) of the Three Towers. It was nearly the same time in the year (July 4th), but only few patches of snow left.
